Newsletter August 2025
We are halfway through our Plein Air programme and generally speaking the weather has been kind.
In particular, a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon spent in Beeleigh Abbey Gardens.
There is one change to this month’s schedule. Following the arson attack at the ironworks Nature Reserve we have had to find an alternative. This will be along Downs Road in Maldon on the green, so boats, greenery and industrial buildings to draw or paint.

As always car sharing is a more economical way to travel to these venues, plus where parking is limited, fewer cars is much better.
If anyone wants a lift ask on your specific plein air WhatsApp groups or email Jean – chair@madonartclub.co.uk or the events team events@maldonartclub.co.uk
Here’s hoping for continued good weather.
The Art Club returns to The Plume School for it’s AGM on Tuesday September 2nd. 7.00pm in the dining hall.
After the formal bit of the evening following the reports and the election of the committee we are going to have refreshments – so bring a cup!!! We will then have a very informal chat about what is planned for the year ahead in terms of the weekly programme. We really need your input in this, what you like, don’t like, want to have a go at, etc etc. Its everyone’s club, so let’s try to have something for everyone.
Have a great August, enjoy any holidays you might be planning. Hope to see lots of you at Plein Air!!! And Everyone at the AGM.
