Our new MAC year began on September 2nd with our AGM. Once the formalities were over we had a really nice social evening catching up with those that had not managed to get to the plein air sessions throughout the summer.

Our loose theme for September was Blue and we had some fun and productive evenings exploring Delft ware designs, seas and skies and monochrome using just blue watercolour and water.

Some of our members have been part of the Maldon Art Trail – brought back to life and reinvented after an absence of 8/9 years.  Maldon Art Club were set up and displaying their artwork in The Town Hall and the Octagon at St Marys

Church.  We had a super weekend, lots of lovely visitors some sales and some new Art Club Members.

We are having a busy time at the moment as our Annual Art Exhibition is being held on October 30th, 31st and November 1st.  So lots of artwork being produced for display.  We will be exhibiting as usual in All Saints Church at the top of Maldon High Street – open from 10-4 each day!!!   There will be framed artwork, portfolio pieces, cards and some craft pieces for sale.  Christmas is creeping up on us!!

We have welcomed several new members to Maldon Art Club this term but we still have places available, so if you are sitting at home with the evenings beginning to draw in, why not come along and give us a look.  We are a very friendly lively club with lots planned this year – you can see our current programme of events on our website – maldonartclub.co.uk   We welcome beginners to seasoned Artists.  There is something for everyone.  Give us a like on FB as well – Maldon Art Club.

We meet on Tuesday evenings in the dining hall of The Plume Academy, Fambridge Road. 7pm – 9pm.
